Retired Cedar Rapids Teacher Librarian Given Award

Retired Cedar Rapids teacher librarian Donna Koch was awarded the Everyday Heroes award in November. Koch established the first school library in the Cedar Rapids Community School District in 1967.She graduated from the College of Education's program for teacher librarians at the University of Iowa one year before the founding of the School of Library and Information Science.

“I’ve always been a reader, and I’ve tried to share my love for reading with others, to help them become lifetime readers, too,” Koch says.
