UI SLIS Grad Angela Murillo Wins Best Poster Award

A selection committee for the National Consortium for Data Science (NCDS) Data Innovation Showcase has recognized Angela Murillo’s poster as a “work of scientific merit” and declared her a winner for Best Poster. She will be awarded a cash prize and the opportunity to present her research at the NCDS Data Innovation Showcase on May 21st, 2014 at the Renaissance Computing Institute on the Chapel Hill campus. Murillo’s dissertation research, she says, specifically focuses on “what infrastructure factors inhibit or facilitate data sharing and reuse.”

Murillo, currently a doctoral student and teaching fellow at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, was a Digital Libraries Research Fellow at the University of Iowa and graduated from the UI SLIS program in 2010.
