SLA Meeting Free for Students

The Iowa chapter of the Special Library Association is encouraging SLIS students to attend its annual meeting on Friday, November 5 on the University of Iowa campus.

The meeting is free for students, $20 for members and $25 for nonmembers. In addition, students who attend will be able to take part in a drawing for two student 2011 SLA memberships that the chapter is sponsoring.

The keynote speaker for this year's meeting will be Donald W. King, known for his research on measurement, evaluation and promotion of library services. The afternoon meeting portion will be more informal than in years past and will include demonstrations by content management providers in the special library industry.

You can register for the SLA through their website.

It will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. on Friday, November 5.
