Specialized Focus Areas

Specialized Focus Areas and Certificates

LIS practice extends across a variety of information organizations. While you complete your degree, you may wish to focus your studies in one area of the LIS fields. The following are a list of our course offerings in each of these areas of specialization. The MA in Library and Information Science includes your initial five core courses (15 s.h.) and seven elective courses (21 s.h.) that may be chosen from the electives listed below. Many of these areas of specialization also have an optional certificate or joint degree. Additional information on these programs is available on the Degrees and Certificates page. **Please note that some our course offerings may not have an online section. Please contact Carol Ives or your academic advisor with any questions.
