Annual Kozo (Paper Mulberry) Harvest at the UI Center for the Book Research and Production Paper Facility

UI Center for the Book Research and Production Paper Facility on the UI Oakdale Campus

The Center for the Book will be hosting the annual kozo (paper mulberry) harvest at the UI Center for the Book Research and Production Paper Facility on the UI Oakdale Campus. The harvested bark will be used to make lightweight Japanese-style mending tissues that are used in the care and conservation of rare books and manuscripts. All are welcome to join in.

Please note the following schedule:
10am to 12 Noon, tree harvesting, steaming, stripping
12 Noon to 1pm, lunch break
1-4pm, final stripping, bark scraping
