SLIS recent graduate, Stephanie Blalock, Digital Humanities Librarian and Associate Editor, Walt Whitman Archive will be providing a TEI/XML workshop.
The TEI/XML workshop will provide an overview of text encoding, or marking up texts with code in order to create machine readable versions. It will also address how text encoding is used in digital humanities projects like The Walt Whitman Archive. Workshop participants will get hands-on experience with using basic TEI/XML for marking up texts. This workshop may be of particular interest to graduate students who are currently enrolled in or who might be interested in the Public Digital Humanities graduate certificate. No prior experience with TEL/XML is necessary: the workshop is designed for beginners – though attendees of all skill or interest levels are welcome!
