UICB Crowdsourcing Book Art Database Event

April 21, 2017 - 12:30 pm to 5:00 pm

Special Collections Map room

Karen Carcia and Julie Leonard have been working on a Book Art database that would serve as a source for locating book art materials in Special Collections with search criteria not generally found in basic cataloging data, including the various makers involved, and structure, materials, and processes employed to create books. Hannah Hacker, current Olson Fellow in Special Collections, is joining this effort as part of her Fellowship.

We'll pull a number of books, have some pros on hand, and work together as a group to identify and input information on the books. This will allow us to more quickly populate the database in order to make it public that much sooner.

Everyone is most welcome. Come for a short time or the entire time; whatever fits your schedule. We'll pair you with books to examine and document and offer any needed assistance. If you know you plan to attend, please let us know. But, also feel free to just stop by.
