Holiday Percussion Pops

December 9, 2012 - 3:00 pm

The Englert Theater
221 East Washington Street
Iowa City, IA 52240

Iowa Percussion and the PanAmerican Steel Band welcome winter to Iowa City with "Holiday Percussion Pops" at the Englert Theatre. Seasonal favorites old and new, presented in Iowa Percussion's inimitable style, will give audiences of all ages a holiday glow. Even the biggest Grinch will smile at tunes such as the group's Caribbean tinged Snowlypso Medley, The Things We Want for Christmas Medley, and Soca Santa, some fun holiday music from Trinidad and Tobago.

Iowa Percussion and School of Music Staff will also be teaming up again this year to support the Johnson County Crisis Center Food Bank. Just bring an item from the Crisis Center’s wish list such as canned fruit, 100% fruit juice, soup, canned meat, pasta and rice, baby diapers (all sizes) baby formula and food, toilet paper, or laundry detergent.

Holiday Percussion Pops promises to be a fast paced concert full of surprises, great music, and family fun that is sure to warm your heart and keep it pumping to the island beat.

The concert, under the direction of Dr. Dan Moore, is Sunday, December 9, at 3:00 p.m. It is free and open to the public.
