My current research is situated at the intersection of audiovisual media preservation, media production, and archival practice. Through studying the history of three media arts centers, my dissertation research interrogated the development of archival practices within these organizations and framed these media makers as community archives. This talk will introduce these broad areas of interest and describe the development of this research from a MLIS course project to the dissertation and into my plans for future research.
