The Triangle Club (affiliated with the Obermann Center) presents John Culshaw, University Librarian at the University of Iowa.

The library, long considered the heart of the research university, has changed dramatically in the last three decades and continues to evolve today. Are libraries still relevant in the age of Google and Wikipedia? YES! More than a million people entered the UI Main Library in the last year – and some 11,000 journal articles are downloaded every day. Libraries may be different (or even invisible) but they continue to provide services, collections, and spaces that are critical to the work of students and faculty today. Learn about some interesting innovations in library services and facilities that are happening now at the University of Iowa and elsewhere.
