April 2013 is Graduate Student Appreciation Month at the University of Iowa! The UI Graduate Student Senage (GSS) will be sponsoring, co-sponsoring, or promoting multiple FREE and entertaining events tailored to you!

Today GSS has teamed up with the Division of World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures to promote the department's Wednesday evening movie series, Soirés cinéma/Tardes de Cine, showing a series of foreign films in French and Spanish.

On April 3rd, GSS is sponsoring the showing of Celda 211. The movie, directed by Daniel Monzón, is the story of two men on opposing sides of a prison riot. One is the inmate leading the rebellion and the other is the young guard trapped in the revolt, who ends up posing as a prisoner in a desperate attempt to survive the ordeal. The movie was produced in Spain in 2009 and is in Spanish.
