Iowa Working Group Meeting

March 15, 2013 - 2:30 pm

Special Collections Classroom

Please join the Iowa Working Group on Friday, March 15 at 2:30 p.m. in the University of Iowa Special Collections Classroom for "Things Revisited, Things Never Seen," a presentation of items from the University of Iowa Special Collections by SLIS student and current Olsen Scholar Andrea Kohashi. She will be pulling items requested by the group in advance as well as items which catch her very own eye!

UI Center for the Book student Mary Sullivan will present "Binding from the Ground Up," a presentation discussing her experience at Jim Croft's Oldways workshop; tool and bookmaking from raw materials. She will discuss their self-sustaining lifestyle and how it relates to their work at artists and craftspeople, and how her experience at their workshop continues to guide her exploration of book arts.

The Iowa Working Group is a student moderated discussion/presentation series. The intended focus is on Book Arts Theory, Art Theory, History, and Project Development. The group meets monthly to hear a mini-lecture from one or two presenters and discuss ongoing projects of members of the group.
