As we are often reminded, we live in an "information age."  Because of the sheer volume of information, we face unprecedented challenges in processing, organizing, accessing, evaluating, and preserving all this information.  It is crucial that we continue to develop ways to meet these challenges while remaining focused on our humanity as the primary locus of meaning.

Join us to learn more about two exciting graduate programs that address not only how we produce and manage information but how we can find innovative ways to answer questions and solve the problems facing today's society.

INFORMATICS brings information technology together with the arts and humanities, and the natural, biological, health, and social sciences.  It deals with the transformation of people by technology, and vice versa, resulting in information that has the capability to solve entirely new problems or successfully attack existing, persistent problems from a different perspective. LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SCIENCE merges the fields of library science and information science and applies the practices, perspectives and tools of management, information technology, education and other areas to libraries, preservation, archival science, and the political economy of information.
